Drew Estate Blackened Toro Sampler brings together two distinctive BLACKENED cigar blends in the popular 6 x 52 Toro size: BLACKENED M81 Maduro to the Core and BLACKENED S84 Shade to Black. Both are handmade by Drew Estate in Nicaragua and were developed through the collaboration of Metallica's James Hetfield, BLACKENED master distiller Rob Dietrich, and Drew Estate founder Jonathan Drew.

The sampler provides a direct comparison between the dark, full-bodied M81 and the smoother S84. M81 combines a Mexican San Andres Maduro wrapper with Connecticut River Valley Broadleaf Maduro binder and Nicaraguan and Pennsylvania Broadleaf Maduro fillers. S84 reverses the visual experience with a light Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper surrounding a dark Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro binder and Maduro-rich filler blend.

What cigars are in the Drew Estate Blackened Toro Sampler?

The Drew Estate Blackened Toro Sampler features BLACKENED M81 Maduro to the Core Toro and BLACKENED S84 Shade to Black Toro cigars. Both blends are presented in the same 6 x 52 Toro size, making it easy to compare their different wrapper and blend profiles.

What is BLACKENED M81 Maduro to the Core?

BLACKENED M81 Maduro to the Core is the original BLACKENED cigar collaboration. The 6 x 52 Toro uses a Mexican San Andres Maduro wrapper, Connecticut River Valley Broadleaf Maduro binder, and Nicaraguan and Pennsylvania Broadleaf Maduro filler tobaccos.

What is BLACKENED S84 Shade to Black?

BLACKENED S84 Shade to Black uses an Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper over a Connecticut River Valley Broadleaf Maduro binder with Nicaraguan Maduro and Pennsylvania Broadleaf Maduro filler tobaccos. Drew Estate classifies S84 as medium-bodied.

What is the difference between BLACKENED M81 and S84?

The biggest difference is the wrapper. M81 uses a dark Mexican San Andres Maduro wrapper for a fuller profile, while S84 uses a lighter Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper over a Maduro-rich interior. The sampler allows both blends to be compared in the identical 6 x 52 Toro format.

What size cigars are in the Blackened Toro Sampler?

Both BLACKENED cigars included in the sampler are 6 x 52 Toros.

Where are BLACKENED cigars made?

BLACKENED M81 and S84 Shade to Black are handmade by Drew Estate in Nicaragua.

Who created BLACKENED cigars?

The BLACKENED cigar project is a collaboration between Metallica co-founder James Hetfield, BLACKENED master distiller and blender Rob Dietrich, and Drew Estate founder Jonathan Drew.

Is the Drew Estate Blackened Toro Sampler good for comparing M81 and S84?

Yes. Because both cigars use the same 6 x 52 Toro size, the sampler provides a straightforward way to experience the differences between the Maduro-wrapped M81 and Connecticut Shade-wrapped S84 blends.
